BEFORE YOUR WAX
-
Hair needs to be at least 1/4” long for the wax to properly adhere to and encapsulate the hairs for the best results. That means long enough to pinch between your fingers or the length of a grain of rice. Don’t worry if it’s longer, trimming isn’t necessary.
-
For the best results, exfoliate regularly every 3 days and 24-48 hours before your wax appointment. Exfoliating removes dead skin cells that could be trapping hairs. It also reduces the risk of ingrown hairs and keeps your skin soft and smooth.
-
Caffeine and alcohol can make the skin more sensitive to waxing. Make sure to drink plenty of liquids the day of. Staying hydrated keeps your skin supple and allows for more comfortable removal of the hair.

AFTERCARE
-
Your skin is more sensitive and prone to bacteria immediately after waxing. Don’t touch the skin with dirty hands and avoid sun exposure, sexual contact, and sweating for the first 24 hours after your wax. Also avoid hot tubs, pools, and bodies of water in general for 24 hrs.

For the best results, exfoliate regularly to keep your skin soft, smooth, and free of ingrown and trapped hairs. Wait two to three days after your wax to begin your regimen. Exfoliate once every 3 days and 24-48 hours before your wax appointment. Exfoliating removes dead skin cells that could be trapping hairs. It also reduces the risk of ingrown hairs and keeps your skin soft and smooth.

Consistency is key for the best, longest lasting results. Re-booking your wax every 3-4 weeks will ensure the majority of your hairs are being waxed with each successive session. Over time, your hair follicles will weaken and each individual hair will become softer, finer, and easier (less painful) to remove.
WAXING FAQs
Why waxing?
Waxing removes hair from the root and over time weakens the hair follicle resulting in thinner, finer, and more sparse regrowth. It offers the convenience of staying smoother for longer than traditional shaving or depilatories. And for myself and many others, it reduces irritation - no more razor bumps, ingrown hairs, or break outs.
Can I get a bikini or brazilian wax while on my period or while pregnant?
On your period? Yes! While your skin may be a little more sensitive and tender during your menstrual cycle, you most certainly can still wax while on your period. Please just wear a tampon, cup, or disk to appointment.
While pregnant? Yes! Due to the hormonal changes during pregnancy, you’re likely to be a bit more sensitive. Just leave me a note when booking so I can add a little extra time for your appointment to make sure we can keep you as comfortable as possible through your wax.
How painful is a wax?
Everyone has a different pain tolerance. Some people may experience slight discomfort, while others may not experience much, if any at all. With diligent preparation/aftercare, a routine waxing schedule, and the proper technique in application and removal, you should feel only brief, mild discomfort.
How long does it last?
Depending on how fast your hair grows back, a wax typically lasts four to six weeks. The hairs will grow back thinner and finer and will be much less noticeable when they do start popping up. Whatever you do, DON’T pick up the razor to shave in between and rebook 3-4 weeks out to get the best results.
